Yo Gabba Gabba

If your a mom or dad to little ones then you know whats hot right now and that is Yo Gabba Gabba. The Nick JR. show hosted by a character named DJ Lance Rock is a series feature of mix live-action segments featuring cartoon costumed characters - Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee and Plex - and many short animated sketches and musical numbers. With it's many celebrity guest appearances ( Jack Black, Leslie Hall, The Shins, The Aggrolites, Andy Samberg, Cornelius, Biz Markie, Shiny Toy Guns, Supernova, Mark Mothersbaugh, Rahzel, The Postmarks, Sugarland, Tony Hawk, The Roots, Low, Laila Ali, Elijah Wood, Mýa, The Salteens,) and a personal favorite of mine and my husbands the The Aquabats.

The show in my opinion is on of my favorites. With a 50 inch tv that is manly on the Nick JR cable channel and dosen't get much grown up time, I have to say this is one show I love to sit down and watch with my little ones. Since I love to sew and make my girls fun new toys my 4 going on 5 year old asked me to make her the Yo Gabba Gabba gang. I have since then got 4 out of the 5 main characters down. It's really fun to take a few sheets of felt and get these little guys out of it. It takes a lot of time and patience but the end product and happy kiddo makes it well worth it. I recently did a set of Muno and Brobee for a friend of mine. 

 She purchased the cute little set for her Nephew who is a big fan of the show.

The set is one of my favorite to make, Brobee is my favorite out all of the Gabba gang.

Easter Egg Decorating

Melted Crayon Eggs

When the most humble of art supplies meets the shell of a just-boiled egg, the crayon wax softens, and the colors swirl together in a magical way. The results are fast, fun, and gorgeous.

  Materials:

• white eggs
• tongs

• empty egg carton
• crayons

Instructions:

 

1. Hard-boil white eggs. Remove them from the hot water with tongs or a slotted spoon, dry them, and rest them in an empty egg carton or on plastic bottle caps (an adult's job).
    
2. Color them with the crayons' tips or remove the paper coverings and use the crayons' sides. For a speckled effect, grate a crayon and sprinkle the bits over the eggs. The waxy eggs are very slippery, so take care when turning them to color the underside.
    
    When you're done coloring, leave them to dry for about an hour.
   
   
    I plan to make these with my little girls on Friday, I have so many broken crayons it is a great way to use up all the left over crayons. My advice for parents with small kids is to make sure the eggs are not to hot before you let your little ones handle them. Hope you all enjoy!

Elena's vervain filled locket

Yes once again I am going to admit, I am total sucker for ALL things Vampire Diaries. Recently well searching around Etsy to find some more favorite items and shops I found these three lockets. I found a total of three that I think are the perfect gift for you or any TVD fan, I even found 3 different great price ranges.
         

Gorgeous sterling silver plated, antique finish locket is inspired by the locket worn by Elena in the Vampire Diaries. It is embellished with a blood red crystal drop.Locket measures approximately 1.25" and necklace measures approximately 18 inches.

This locket by Birdz N Beez is the cheaper of the three. It is priced at $24.00. It's not perfect like some of the others but it pretty darn close. It's great for someone on a budget, or for someone who wants to buy more than just one.

 This locket from Meng709032 is my favorite  of the three. Don't get me wrong I love all three. I am not sure what it is but I love it! It's priced at $69.00. I think it's the one I would pick, since it looks so much like the locket worn on the show.

This pendant was inspired by a popular TV show.
In the first 3 pictures it has not yet been given a patina to darken the silver, let me know if you prefer it that way. The back can be personalized with a short name if you let me know at time of ordering. These photos are actually 4 different pendants that I have made, no 2 can be exactly alike because they are handmade. It is embellished with a 4mm Lab-Grown Round Ruby Cabochon, but if you request a lab-grown garnet or lab-grown orange carnelian This pendant has a hollow pouch so that you can put essential oil in it for aromatherapy. It does not open and close like a locket. You can put oil directly into the pendant or you can soak the oil in cotton, felt or a small piece of sponge to remove it easier. It has an image of silver swirls and balls. The back is polished silver with my tag and hallmark. If you don't want to put oil in then it will also hold crushed up leaves, herbs, tiny twigs, or nothing at all. It could also be used to hold a message, a written wish, a lock of hair, or whatever will fit. Since they are hand built they all vary slightly as you can see, there are 4 different ones in the pictures. These particular ones measure about one inch in diameter, not including the bail. In cross section they average about 10mm (pouch size) or 12mm from the highest silver ball. The 18 inch sterling silver curb chain is included, or you may opt for the sterling silver chain that is embellished with tiny silver oval balls all the way to the clasp, (shown in the second photo) let me know your preference. I have other chains to choose from as well.

This locket by Surfing Sliver is beautiful! It's higher in price but its pretty dead on. I am sure the $115.00 will be well worth it for any TVD fan.

I recently went and started to take advantage of making Etsy Treasury list. They are pretty fun to put together and you end up finding some really neat stuff. This wreath is how I found her cute little shop. Back in October I was searching around for fun Halloween decorations. I have to say it is one of my favorites. This wreath definitely belongs on the door of those witch sisters!

Where should I begin ! I love everything about Kelly Smith's Etsy store! Each one of her hand crafted piece's are just amazing and beautiful. Her Etsy shop profile read's :

While I’ve always been artsy, the idea that I would one day make and sell jewelry never once entered my mind. For the first 20 years of my life, I drew. The last half of that period focused exclusively on graphite.

All I can say is Kelly I am so glad you abandoned graphite in favor of jewelry.Ever since I can across her Etsy shop months ago searching for the perfect "Caroline's ring, yes I am a sucker for all that is Vampire Dairies" I have been in love and slowly penny pinching to save enough to buy myself one. If that dosen't happen I have been throwing slow hints to my husband here and there in hope that he will buy me one and surprise me with it one day.

The quality of this ring is just,well I can't even find the
word for it. It's amazing how much it looks just like the ring from the show.

My love for this stone go's way beyond my love for the show. Ever since I read the books based on the show and searched the Lapis Lazuli stone I fell in love. It' an amazing sapphire color and tiny flecks of gold are never once the same in any stone. So the unique stone will never truly be the same in any one ring. As you can tell from the photo below with the many different stones featured in the picture.

Here are some of my other favorite items: 

 Beauty and the Beast
This whimsical double-sided pendant features fancy floral filigree on one face and a weathered gargoyle on the other.

Measuring 27 mm (1.125 inches) in diameter, the .999 pendant was formed out of PMC. A single yellow CZ sparkles from the center of the filigree side.

The 23.5 inch rosary-style chain is composed of freshwater pearls which have been hand wrapped with sterling silver wire. One small citrine rondelle accents each side 4 inches above the pendant. The clasp is a 7mm sterling silver spring ring.

The last two photos show a detail of the front and back of the pendant before I attached it to the chains.

Rapunzel:  A long, golden tassel flows down from the bottom of this ornate shield pendant.

Nestled in the center of the shield’s intricate pattern is a brilliant blue aquamarine (manmade). Matching turquoise beads connect the .999 pure silver pendant to sleek gold-filled chains.

The tassel is composed of vermeil findings (24 karat gold over sterling silver) and various lengths/styles of gold-filled chain. It measures a total of 4.25 inches long and 0.25 inches wide.

1mm thick and 1.4 inches in diameter, the silver shield pendant has a slight triangular dome. Three small flowers on the back reinforce the three loops. It has been antiqued (blackened in the crevices) to show maximum detail.

The necklace is 22 inches long. The silver pendant and tassel dangle almost 6 inches past that. See the fourth photo for an example of how this beautiful long necklace hangs when worn.

The Repunzel necklace is a favorite of my oldest daughters. She is about to be 5 and already has amazing taste! If she ends up picking Rapunzel for Halloween this year I would have to purchase this item just to complete her look. A fun Easter time craft

I love to recycle all my crafts supplies, I keep a huge bag full of left over felt and what not. It is better not to waste. After Easter fun is all up and the kids have eaten all the yummy goodies from the inside of those little tiny eggs, really there is not much you can do other than throw them out. With this super cute and fun craft you can make your kids a cute little herd of animals to play with!
I love to use felt, I think it is super easy to work with and the possibilities are endless. You can even bring the little ones in on this. Just make sure you use safety scissors when cutting. If you plan to do this one alone I would like to recommend using those tiny scissors you get in a pedicure pack. I love those things and you can cut out perfect size ears,legs,tails and more with them! Hope you all enjoy I know I will and can't wait to make my girls some Eggimals!

A Herd of Eggimals
After they've given up all their Easter candy, give your plastic eggs an adorable second life as an owl, skunk, dog, cat, pig, or mouse.
Total Time Needed : 1 Hour 
Materials
        * Plastic Easter eggs
        * Tiny pom-poms
        * Felt
        * Crafter's Pick The Ultimate glue or hot glue
        * Black permanent marker
Instructions
       1. To make the felt features for your critters, you can download our template. We used Crafter's Pick The Ultimate glue (hot glue also works well) to attach the pieces to the eggs and a black permanent marker to draw the face details.
       2. Pig: Curl a 4-inch piece of pipe cleaner around a pen to make the tail, then glue it in place.
       3.  Mouse: For its tail, glue on a 3-inch length of yarn, knotted at the end.
       4.Skunk: First glue the rear half of the stripe to the tail, then glue the tail and front of the stripe to the body.

Being me and wanting every little detail to be perfect I had a very strict story book look in mind. I really do not care for the in store princess outfits you find these days. I have bought a few and honestly they just end up in the trash after a few wears. Liz had everything I had in mind in her store!

I feel in love with this dress the moment I found it. I chose the cotton blend for my little one so she could also wear it for Halloween and for our upcoming trip to Disneyland for three days! I can honestly say she is going to feel like a real princess when we visit, Snow white her self will be jealous.
